The Fishing

Fishing is a great sport that provides a wonderful relaxing vacation for any age group. But whoever the fisher, and whatever the age, these beautiful fighting Kamloops and native rainbow trout are certainly an exciting catch.

We fish over 20 lakes, varying in elevation from 4,000 to 4,800 feet. Fishing is therefore excellent from mid-May until October. The average-sized fish is from 12-18” up to 24” waiting for the lucky fisher.

Spin cast or fly fish either way a 50+ day is a regular occurrence for anyone who likes to count.

When you’re up at Moose Camp, the hardest part of your day will be deciding which lake to discover and conquer!  With ample time around the breakfast table to quiz our regulars on where to go and what flies to bring along.  Dive into our in-house library of fly fishing books and local lake reports and fully immerse yourself in an exciting fishing getaway!

Some good choices for the fly fisher are the Tom Thumb, Careys, Doc Spratley, Dragonfly Nymph, Woolly Worm, and of course, your favourites. For trolling the #4 and #6 Mepps and all types of flatfish (the particularly good ones are the silver and black speckled, gold and fluorescent).

Rowboats and life jackets are provided as well as docks on our 2 private lakes (Rioux and Duebe).  Be it one of our lakes or one of the 20+ that surround us, most often you and your crew are the only humans to be seen on these untouched, serene freshwater hideaways.

Ultimate tranquility, breathtaking vistas and phenomenal fly fishing for as long as your schedule will let you stay!

Our remote, “up a mountain” location results in a fairly short season and with many of our guests being “regulars” that come annually, availability is limited.

It’s best to book as early as possible to secure dates that work for you.  Don’t hesitate to contact us if you’re unable to find a date range that works for you.  We love sharing Camp with regulars and newcomers alike therefore we do everything we can to accommodate as many groups as we can in our short season.

The earlier we get your booking request the better chance we will be able to accommodate you.
