Forest Therapy

Guided Walk options to enhance your stay with us

Forest Therapy

Also known as Forest bathing or Shinrin Yoku. A guided Forest Therapy walk is a great way to get the most benefit out of your Moose Camp getaway.  Check out to learn more.  A short 2- to 3-hour walk offers lasting healing effects for your mind, body and soul.

Based on ancient Shinto and Buddhist practices, the concept is to let nature into your body through all 5 senses.

Forest Therapy Walks enable participants to drop out of their minds and into their bodies. Relaxing into the magical embrace of the forest and therefore fully experiencing the healing powers of nature.

For Example:

  • Reduces cortisol levels (aka the stress hormone)
  • Lowers Blood Pressure
  • Lowers Heart Rate
  • Decreases in sympathetic nerve activity & INCREASE in the parasympathetic system (aka “rest & digest)
  • Strengthens the immune system & increases Natural Killer (NK cells) immune cells
  • Improves focus and cognitive thinking
  • Helps with managing stress and anxiety

If you choose this option; a guided walk with Julia will only be a few short hours of your time at Camp but you’ll feel the positive effects for possibly days afterward!

Always happy to accommodate, Julia can cater to your interests and guide a private walk around that.  60 minute mini walks are also available that may just bring you by a special nearby wilderness wonder.
